Hypnotherapy for
Teeth Grinding

A young man standing outdoors with his head tipped back and eyes closed, jaw and neck relaxed

Most teeth grinding happens while you are asleep, which is what makes it so hard to stop. You wake with an aching jaw, a headache, sore teeth, and no memory of doing anything at all. Some people clench through the day as well, at the desk or in traffic, without noticing until the ache sets in. Underneath it is usually tension the body is holding on to and has nowhere else to put.

What this can help with

  • Grinding or clenching through the night
  • Waking with an aching jaw, face or temples
  • Morning headaches
  • Daytime clenching at the desk, in traffic or under pressure
  • Jaw tension that comes back however often it is treated
  • Wearing a mouthguard and wanting to get at the cause

How hypnotherapy can help

  • Settle the stress the jaw has been carrying on your behalf
  • Teach the body to release rather than brace, including in sleep
  • Notice daytime clenching early enough to let it go
  • Work with whatever the tension is attached to, not only the symptom
  • Give the jaw a different habit to settle into

Every session is tailored to you, drawing on hypnosis, EMDR, counselling skills, psychotherapy, breathwork and NLP as needed — always at a pace that feels safe and right.

Sessions are available in person across the Campbelltown and Macarthur area of South West Sydney and at Terrigal on the Central Coast, or online from anywhere in Australia.
